7 November	Recce & Search Techniques - Johns Rd A recce for a patient in the Johns Rd rubble pile. A quick surface recce found the pt who was extricated onto a backboard and placed into basket stretcher and evacuated with a line pass of the stretcher. 3 October	GR Training - Sockburn Single & 2 point lowers in pumphouse & Office. Sewer knot practice. Attendees: Geoff, Janelle, Brian, Jude, Paul, Ian, Sharon, Helen, Christelle, Chloe, Bronwyn, Emily, Mita, Sarah.
31 October	USAR - GR - Recon Mapping Reconnaisance training at old CWH.
20 Ocober	High Angle Training HA held at Woolston Fire Tower
17 October	USAR - GR - Lowers 4 point Lowers training at Sockburn
6 October	USAR - GR Ladder Slide/Hinge GR training at old CWH.
3 October	Medical - Quiz A series of general knowledge & medical questions to test the Rats. Attendees: Brian, Jude, James, Andrea, Brent, Geoff, Ian, Sharon, Mita, Paul, Rowan, Christelle, Bronwyn, Chloe, Jack, Deb, Sarah.

22 September	HA Lowers/Raising & Directionals - Old CWH Set up of a lower & raising system in an internal stairwell using directionals to best postion lowering lines & stretcher. Lesson on the forces on the system considering the angles and Kn of directionals. 19 Sept	Pandora Debrief & Welcome to new Rats Discussion on the exercises that the Rats participated in and the PRats are now Rats! Welcome to the team Christelle, Bronwyn & Chloe. & we are looking forward to the cake! 14/15 September	Exercise Pandora - Timaru Series of different rescue based exercises over 24 hours around the port of Timaru and the old Hydro Hotel. Rats took part in a HA rescue in a 50m silo, recce & extracation in a fishing trawler and at the Hydro Hotel. Attendees: Brian, Jude, Geoff, Mita, Ian, Sharon, Jack, Bronwyn, Christelle, Chloe, Paul and 7 members of RT2.
12 September	Pandora Preparation Gear sort out and trailor load up prior to Exercise Pandora Attenddees: Brian, Deb, James, Janelle, Helen, Rowan, Geoff, Ian, Sharon, Bronwyn, Christelle, Chloe, Mita, Paul, Jack.
5 September	USAR - GR - Mapping Standards Discussion on standard mapping symbols. Attendees: Geoff, Brian, Jude, Mita, Deb, Allan, Margie, Paul, Ian, Sharon, Christelle, Bronwyn, Chloe.
1 September	Medical - Setting up CCP at old CWH - See Slideshow A practical exercise in which the Rats had to set up a CCP somewhere in the hospital for potentially up to 60 patients with unknown injuries. A series of "paper" pts proceded to bombard the CCP for triage & treatment. Attendees: Brian, Jude, Janelle, Paul, Ian, Tom, Mita, Deb, Christelle.
18 August	Ladders - revision - See Slideshow A practical review of the standards for working with ladders. Raising, lowering lashing, assisting casualties down ladders and a final play inside Christchurch Women's climbing a vertical ladder between the stairwell, Attendees: James, Brian, Jude, Mita, Deb, Paul, Ian, Chloe, Christelle, Bronwyn, Emily, Rowan, Geoff, Helen, Margie, Allan.
15 August	Rogaine - Map reading - See Slideshow Fun short recce exercise with a difference. 30 hidden points around the Hospital. Four teams of two had to find the points in the dark (one torch per team) using the floor plans of the hospital. 11 August	High angle exercise at CWH - See news story & slideshows A series of scenarios to recce and extricate pts. Two from a roof space requiring a vertical 2 point through a manhole and the other from a first level window accessed from the 2nd level and lowered to the ground. Attndees: James, Brian, Jude, Janelle, Geoff, Mita, Deb, Paul, Ross, Chloe, Christelle, Bronwyn, Helen, Jack, Emily.
8 August	Training program discussion & General rescue exercise A brief preview of the years training and then an exercise in the pump house to extract 2 pts without using the stairs. Attendees: Ian, Sharon, Geoff, James, Janelle, Brian, Jude, Mita, Rowan, Paul, Christelle, Bronwyn, Jack.

16 June	Multi Agency Coastguard Exercise - Lyttelton (See news article & slideshow) A large exercise incorporating several smaller exercises with coastguard, police, fire, ambulance, civil defence, The Salvation Army, Westpac helicoptor & search planes atttending. 9 June	Storm Response Theory Powerpoint lesson on prevention, preparedness & planning for storm response and related issues. Attendees: James, Brian, Jude, Janelle, Tom, Geoff, Ian, Sharon, Alex, Debs, Helen, Rowan.
30 May	Nightime Cableway Exercise Woolston Set up of cableway to "rescue" handler & dog from level 2 window. Cableway set up on top level and tensioned from ground level. Two tether lines attatched to usual baseplate set up on cableway & dropped to handler. Attendees: James, Brian, Jude, Janelle, Linda & Que, Mita, Debs, Ian, Sharon, Rowan, Ross, Alex.
23 May	Medical - Trauma & medical scenarios Practical practising of questioning, monitoring and treating of pts under different scenarios. Attendees: Brian, Jude, James, Debs, Mita, Rowan, Helen, Ian, Sharon, Alex.
